The original was designed and built for Phil Lee in 1995. He wanted a semi-acoustic seven string guitar with a low A string and a Gibson L5 size body at the lower bout , plus double cutaway.
The mahogany sides are cut from solid with a flat mahogany back and lightly carved English cherry top. Phil uses it a lot and is a sufficiently accomplished player to make it sound like he’s got a bass playing along with his licks.
The guitar can be made in 6 or 7 string formats from £1900.
