This bass started life in early 2005 as a prototype for Dave Chamberlain, a fine bassist who travels the world more frequently than most. As it’s virtually impossible to fly safely with a double bass these days, the gigs usually provide an instrument but Dave wanted something that at least felt like a double bass to use in his hotel room for practice (and at home in his flat).
The resulting bass has now been to several countries, had a few modifications between tours, been travelling with a couple of other
players and now has the option of a ‘Realist’ pickup

The basic model with poplar body, maple neck and 1.3 octave ebony fingerboard can be used with any bass strings thanks to the screw on string clamps. It comes with a hip support , padded flybag, and assembled bag so you don’t have to keep taking it apart,... for £1400
Depending on your needs, you can also have a
fingerboard extension, forearm support and
extended heel for thumb position playing (£200)
and ‘Realist’ pickup (£150)
