This bass was designed to suit bass guitarists who want to get the sound and feel of a double bass without having to go through the long process of learning a new technique on a much bigger instrument.
Fitted with a simplified body support, the bass is played in a similar position to the standard upright and is fitted with 1/4 size double bass strings and 1/4 size ebony fingerboard which makes it possible to use a bow very effectively when required.
Intonation on the comparatively long neck is assisted by marker lines on the edge of the board. The Mini-Upright is now fitted with a a custom "Realist" pickup which gives a very convincing upright sound, both arco and pizzicato.
